JOB DESCRIPTION: Research Lab Assistant

This position is located within the downtown area of Jacksonville at a large multi-discipline Stem Cell Biology Research Laboratory at and calls for a responsible, conscientious and detail-oriented individual. This position calls for a quick learner who enjoys meeting new people and learning new things. In addition to providing technical research support to lab members, the position may entail some managerial responsibilities.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
• Maintenance of stem cell cultures
• Characterization of various stem cell lines via several types of cellular analysis including: immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, DNA / RNA isolation, PCR.
• Initiation and Management of orders and inventory, tracking supplies and expenditures
• Preservation and shipping of reagent requests.
• Maintenance of equipment, infrastructure, and space allocation.
• Generation of stock reagents.

Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline, and 0 to 2 years of laboratory experience.
• 0-2 years experience in a laboratory setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Good oral and written communication skills
