JOB DESCRIPTION: Pharmacy Tech

These positions will be taking doctor calls so the candidates must be able to communicate effectively with physicians and personnel. Ability to work between multiple systems. Ability to enter new prescriptions into pharmacy system (decipher prescriptions, distinguishing different drug forms and dosages). Ability to calculate dispensing quantities and days supply. Ability to work in a fast paced, production-based environment. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with an attention to detail/quality focus. A minimum of 1-3 years of pharmacy technician retail, hospital outpatient, or mail service pharmacy related experience is a must. Pharmacy terminology, calculations and drug experience is required. Candidate must be able to read and interpret prescriptions and be able to enter these prescriptions into the pharmacy dispensing system. The ability to multi-task, effectively communicate both written and verbally, and possess good problem solving skills is essential. Strong PC and keyboard skills are required. A technical college degree (pharmacy tech program) or comparable work experience is preferred.
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION: We are a mail service pharmacy. The position is a 40 hour work schedule; working between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. EST. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to working a minimum of a 6 hour shift between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The training period will be approximately 3 weeks, working 8:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. There are times when overtime may be required. Work schedules could involve weekend work to complete the 40 hours.
This position is a right-to-hire; it could become a permanent situation for the right candidate.
