Integrated Regional Laboratories currently has an opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor in our Core Lab in Fort Lauderdale, FL. IRL is recruiting for a techincal manager to provide oversight for the laboratory sections of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular testing. You will be responsible for communicating and coordinating the physicians regarding diagnoses of infectious disease and organism susceptibility to antibiotics. You will work closely with physicians, HCA Hospital Pathologists, Pharmacies and Infection Control Nurses. Previous experience supervising a community hospital microbiology laboratory or a reference laboratory is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience. Position duties include: - Develop and maintain all department policies & procedures. - Ensures that departments meet regulatory agency requirements (CAP, HRS, others), including: proficiency testing, quality assurance, documentation, quality control, etc. - Participate in the evaluation and selection of testing methodologies and equipment for the core laboratory. - Ensure the effective operation and ongoing maintenance of laboratory equipment and automation. - Ensure timely and accurate response to client and physician inquiries. - Manage technical operations to ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies and regulatory agencies. - Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to identify, measure, assess, communicate and improve the delivery of service. - Effectively recruit, interview, select, train, develop, evaluate and supervise core laboratory employees. Required Experience: Position Requirements: - 5 years experience as a technologist with at least 3-5 years as a microbiology technical supervisor required. - State of Florida Supervisory License in microbiology and serology required. - Excellent human relations, written and oral communication skills required. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite™ software preferred.
