JOB DESCRIPTION:   Senior Forensic Scientist (Chemistry Unit) Company: The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Performs chemical and instrumental analysis of exhibits, which are suspected to contain controlled substances from solid dosages, utilizing modern analytical techniques such as GC, UV, GC/MS, and FTIR. Responsibilities include preparing reports and testifying to those reports in court. Performs related duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or related field. A minimum of three (3) years experience testifying as an expert in the field of drug analysis for BA/BS candidate, or two (2) years experience for MS or PHD candidate is required. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. DIVISION: Technical Services (Chemistry Unit) WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. SALARY: Pay Grade 34, with a hiring range of $4,378- $4,782 per month, plus an excellent benefits package.
