| JOB DESCRIPTION: Outreach Specialist: This full time position is responsible for identifying individuals living with HIV/AIDS or at high risk HIV infection (including MSMs, substance abusers, sex workers). Outreach Specialists will provide information regarding HIV transmission, the benefits of medical care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, risk reduction techniques, and referrals to appropriate services. Will also provide HIV testing and counseling as well as assist individuals living with HIV/AIDS who have never received services or who have been lost to care to access medical care, case management and/or substance abuse treatment. Will be required to work some nights &/or weekends. |

Required Experience:
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, a minimum of two years HIV Outreach experience and knowledge of the community. Other required skills include good writing, communication and organization skills as well as basic computer skill, and HIV testing and counseling experience. Salary range: $20,000 - $26,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.
All positions also REQUIRE a valid driver’s license and access to private, insured transportation and Miami-Dade Health Department HIV 104, 500, & 501 certification. Ability to speak Spanish and/or Creole in addition to English highly desired.
