JOB DESCRIPTION:   Executive Director Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission Description The Executive Director of the CJC, Palm Beach County, conceptualizes, plans, organizes, promotes, and monitors programs and services to prevent and/or to effect the reduction of crime in Palm Beach County, and serves as the Spokesperson for the CJC. -We are seeking a Director with a demonstrated belief in the essential role of the CJC in the community and with a clear and attainable vision of what the CJC promotes. The ideal candidate should possess political acumen, a proven track record in criminal justice/crime prevention, understanding of criminal justice technology, demonstrated leadership in policy matters, and thorough knowledge of grant procedures and administration. Must be well versed in the criminal justice field and be prepared to identify and respond appropriately to current challenges facing the criminal justice system. Required Experience: QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Public/Business Administration, Law, or related field; minimum of seven (7) years of executive/management experience in all phases of criminal justice systems including, but not limited to, defense, prosecution, judiciary, law enforcement, and corrections. Preference for: Related Master’s Degree; professional experience: In the State of Florida; in grant administration; authoring professional publications.
