JOB DESCRIPTION:   Sr Software Developer Reply to: Nperez@Kforce.com Under general direction, formulates / defines system scope and objectives. Devises and modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Prepares detail specifications for programming. Responsible for all project development phases including: design, code, test, and document programs. Acts independently under general direction. Primary programming language will be VB.Net and VB6. In addition, knowledge about the Mainframe environment and Cobol development will be a definitely plus. Knowledge: 1. Completion of Bachelor’s degree in MIS, or CS and/or 2. 5+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience. Possesses a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the programming field to be able to complete difficult assignments. Technical experience: 1. Languages: Visual Basic .NET, ASP.NET, VB6, XML, Crystal report (COBOL will be a plus) 2. Database experience in DB2 including SQL, Stored procedures, embedded SQL and database design 3. Web Service development 4. Development environment: Visual Studio for Web based & Windows applications and mainframe 5. Platform: Windows, Unix/ Linux, and Mainframe (MVS) with TSO 6. Object Oriented Methodology, web development and client / server programming Additional skills: 1. Strong Analytical and problem solving skills 2. Good verbal and written communication skills 3.
