JOB DESCRIPTION: San Jose California Area - Surgery Support Caregiver/Companion Needed
This temporary position will open in late May or June 2007.
We live in Los Angeles (90016), California, but the Client will be having surgery in San Jose (95124), California.
We are looking for an experienced, RELIABLE and DEPENDABLE surgery support caregiver/companion.
Applicants living in or near Los Angeles must be willing to commute and live in or near the San Jose area (or neighboring communities) for 7 to 10 days.
It is estimated that we will need someone for approx 7 to 10 days, but it could be extended to as much as 15 days.
A reliable car is a plus because you will be the support person for a Client (age 50) who is having surgery.
On the 1st day of surgery, you must be available to help admit the Client into the hospital (this may be very early in the morning).
Surgery is approx 6 hours, during that time you will be the liaison between the Doctor and the Client's family.
The remaining days will consist of daily visits to hospital to assist and check on Client. One or two days will consist of taking Client to see Doctor (at his San Francisco office) after discharge from hospital.
On the last day of hospital stay, you will be responsible for helping Client check out of hospital and return home safety to Los Angeles.
Your schedule will look something like this.
One full-time day and the remaining days will be part-time:
1st day = 12 hours (6am to 6pm); Shift pays $150
2nd day = 5 hours (or hospital visiting hours); Shift pays $100
3rd day = 5 hours "visiting hours"; Shift pays $100
4th day = 5 hours "visiting hours"; Shift pays $100
All remaining shifts are 5 hours and pay $100
