JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager

Stopka & Associates currently has a full time permanent position for a Project Manager in Port St. Lucy, FL. Our client is a medical mail order supply company. Looking for a charismatic, energetic, and driven individual capable of building PMO functions from the group up. The individual must be able to apply industry best practices (PMBOK) to successfully manage development projects in an unknown and complex operating enviroment.
Must Haves:
• PMP Certification
• 3+ yrs. experience managing the project management and/or program management function of an IT organization
• Recent (last few years) hands-on project management experience. This position is a working manager.
• Experience must include managing development projects – preferably in a Microsoft environment
• Candidate must have a thorough understanding of the SDLC
• Must be capable of autonomously managing and leading the management of IT projects in an unknown environment
• Experience leading other project managers
• Ability to perform detailed Cost/Benefit Analysis
• Ability to define and produce useful project management metrics
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project
The following would be a plus:
• Experience developing or building a PMO function
• Experience with MS Project Server
• Experience managing non-development IT projects
• Hands-on experience in business analysis and requirements gathering
