JOB DESCRIPTION: Public Relations Internship, Altamonte Springs

We're looking for an outgoing intern who wants to start building a portfolio for a career in communications/public relations.

Company Description:

Wellons Communications is a small, but growing independent public relations firm. We represent clients in entertainment, real estate, health care, green technology and more. The right candidate can come in and start working on accounts immediately. This is a place to learn
and build a portfolio in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. If you want to start your career and land hits, this is your place. If you want to drink coffee and put together clip books, you should look elsewhere.

Responsibility:
-Media relations
-Writing
-Research
-Pitching stories
-Building targeted media lists

Skills Required:
-Experienced with MS Word, Excel
-Familiar with AP Style
-Solid writing skills; spelling, grammar, etc. Must be able to write
quickly and clearly.
-An outgoing personality

Skills Desired:
-Working knowledge of Web 2.0
-Ability to converse with media professionals. Should be able to work
the phone and talk to journalists.

Education:
-College junior or senior or recent graduate
-Coursework in PR, communications and advertising
