JOB DESCRIPTION:   Civil/Structural Engineer: Job Function: Participate as a key member of a team of technical experts in support of all civil engineering and infrastructure issues at Power Generation Division plants. Development of project scope, preparation of construction documents, design specifications and standards. Construction support and field inspections including condition assessment, repairs, and troubleshooting. Position Description: To lead multifunctional/multidiscipline teams and or processes (Operation & Maintenance, Production Assurance/Eng. Support, Environment or Business Support) focused on achieving process/team results in line with PGD business plans, lead efforts that seek breakthrough in process improvement activities, initiatives and/or teams, lead teams in problem analysis, decision making and long range planning, Demonstrate and maintain an understanding of general business principles, industry trends and operational practices, and apply that knowledge to issues relevant to PGBU/FPL; provide feedback individual performance. This position may also function as a principal level individual contributor Position Requires: Occasional in state travel, overnight assignment, out of state travel to FPLE facilities, overtime as required. Competencies: Demonstrated engineering expertise. Well-organized and experienced at tracking multiple projects in fast paced environment. Ability to complete projects with a minimum of supervision. Good communication and negotiation skills w/ external/internal customer. Exhibit a sense of urgency to customers' needs. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Required Experience: Qualifications: Bachelor's - Engineering; Candidate for this position must have a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years experience in: 1. Steel and concrete design, modification, & restoration 2. Pipe supports 3. Foundations/Geotechnical 4. Civil/Site work. Autocad and STAAD experience helpful.
