JOB DESCRIPTION: Geotechnical Engineer, Project Manager

Job Duties:

1) Project Management for subsurface explorations: Client maintenance, boring location plans, utility clearance, fieldwork order preparation, soil sample review and classification, laboratory assignment, engineering analysis, and report preparation.

2) Engineering analysis: Foundation alternatives such as deep (drilled shafts or driven piles) or shallow foundations; soil improvements such as removal of unsuitable materials and surcharge of non-cohesive materials (clays); wall design; soil parameter recommendations for mast arm signalization, high mast lighting, culverts, and FB-Pier; and recommendations for permeability of pond soils and swales.

3) Field testing: Pile driving analyzer (PDA) and associated engineering analysis such as wave-equation and CAPWAP analysis; cross-hole sonic logging (CSL); pile integrity testing (PIT); static load testing and instrumentation; drilled shaft inspection; vibration monitoring; site evaluations for sink holes; condition surveys for pre and post-construction, and other field engineering related duties.

4) Financial management of assigned projects: Proposal preparation, cost evaluation as project progresses, and billing.

BS/MS Civil Engineering, current FL PE, or ability to obtain with 1 year.
