JOB DESCRIPTION: Electrical Engineer needed for complex material specification, schematic preparation and follow-up to ensure proper and effective implementation. Performs complex design, development, testing and modifications of solutions. Performs explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data. Performs communication of complex technical and commercial issues. Completes recommendations for complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.Plant Electrical Systems Group
Electrical Engineer
Knowledge of electric power systems, equipment and calculations in power plant applications.
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form, and to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
Develop electric power system concepts for power plant auxiliary electrical distribution systems, including single-line diagrams and protective relaying systems.
Develop specifications for power plant electrical equipment. Perform vendor bid evaluations, drawing reviews, manufacturing quality and schedule surveillance.
Knowledge of / experience with one or more of the following: generator step-up transformers, unit auxiliary transformers, isolated phase bus, generator circuit breakers, medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear, DC systems -- batteries / battery chargers, UPS (uninterruptible power systems), diesel generators, protective relaying systems.
Knowledge of / experience with one or more of the following areas: single line diagrams, three line diagrams, protective relaying calculations / settings, short circuit calculations / studies, load flow studies.
Oversee and direct plant electrical system work performed by outside engineering firms including A/Es and partners.
Develop, track and meet project schedule commitments and budgets.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering
