| JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing individually, as well as assisting the team in the preparation of financial analyses & forecasts for use in the development of key business decisions. This position provides support & guidance to drive growth, profitability & efficiencies from analytical initiation through full project implementation. Business partners include both corporate functional management, as well as one of four field-based regional vice-presidents. Required Experience: Analysis
Perform segment analysis as directed, analyze existing financial processes, recommend improvements & implement solutions.
Direct projects with cross-functional teams, present results to management, and implement findings.
Coordinate with other departments & conduct special ad hoc financial studies/analyses.
Interface with other segments of Sears and represent Home Improvements metrics where necessary.
Perform general economic research to identify major business trends, as well as analyze issues impacting company revenue performance.
Compile or prepare reports/presentations for management business & financial reviews.
Supervise and provide analytical guidance to other associates as necessary.
Budgeting
Manage the development of specific portions of the annual financial plan as directed.
Forecast and adjust budget plans with applicable managers as directed.
Develop detailed spreadsheets, financial models, charts & graphs depicting forecast and budget detail.
Consolidate forecast and budget spreadsheets into summary formats.
Perform budget mapping for inclusion into company financial systems.
Work directly with department managers to develop and interpret financial results.
Reporting
Prepare monthly reporting package for management that tracks key financial metrics.
Manage the production and ensure the accuracy of reports published.
Routinely produce and distribute various reports as directed.
Other
Develop reconciliations to capture & track various costs for the company (i.e., 0% financing, cost of sales, advertising, personnel expense & administrative costs).
Review & prepare journal entries & verify the accuracy of accounting transactions for certain financial statement captions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Education/Training
Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting is required, with preference for an accounting degree.
Master's of Business Administration preferred.
