JOB DESCRIPTION: AUDITOR / Accounting
Positions can be filled under the Federal Career Intern Program, which consists of a two-year appointment that can be converted to a permanent appointment at the conclusion of the two-years. Other appointments are available for experienced or entry-level accountants and auditors from private businesses as well other government agencies.
The position includes full benefits and promotion opportunities with formal classroom training, mentoring, substantial on the job training, on site audit work as a major component of the audit team, continuing professional education credits, and rapid growth. Auditors are typically promoted three times within the first three years. There are further competitive advancement opportunities to Team Leader and Supervisory positions Career progressions to the journeyman level will typically double this salary in three years – the current journeyman salary is $66,604. Experience: Candidates must have (or be within 4 months of completing) a bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours or 36 quarters hours in accounting. A GPA of at least 3.0 overall or a Master’s degree is required. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and undergo a background investigation and drug screening.
